Fee Free Legals
This feature is available for standard re-mortgages on properties in England and Wales where the advance amount is over £75k. Where the advance amount is less than £75k there is a £95 contribution fee towards the legal work.
Subject to the Society’s Legal Department being used and qualifying criteria.
The fee covers the Society’s costs involved in a standard remortgage transaction and does not include the following costs (which are your responsibility):
- Costs of first registration (in England and Wales) if necessary
- Costs such as those arising on transfer of title, postponement/discharge of charges
- Costs of notice to landlord when property is leasehold
- Additional insurance to cover defects in title
- Any costs charged by any legal adviser instructed by you.
The Society’s legal advisers will not provide you with any advice regarding the transaction. Should you require legal advice you must contact your own solicitor and will be responsible for their costs.
